VISIONS OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM

Three possible visions for the new millennium appear in my imagination, The first is pessimism --- nightmare horrors and gloomy despair,
The second is continuation – mixed dualism and uncertain struggle, The third is optimism – wonderful excellence and splendid transformation.
VISIONS OF PESSIMISM
Possible awful events bring about a horrendous millennium, Excessive population produces a brutish struggle for survival and terrible misery, A devastated environment brings about an ugly,
toxic habitat and disease and death for so many people, A world nuclear-biological war destroys most of the population and the living envy the dead,
A sudden tilting of the axis produces the end of civilization and an ice age of bitter cold.
What a nightmare thousand years! Woe and misery, Atrocities and wretchedness, Regression and savagery, A devastated planet of horrors.
VISIONS OF CONTINUATION
Possible mixed events bring about an ambivalent millennium, Good leaders of noble deeds and excellent achievements; bad leaders of evil deeds and tyranny, Hopeful movements toward peace and
world unity; antagonistic movements toward conflict and world division, Regenerated environments of health and beauty; grim environments of disease and ugliness, Encouraging philosophies of
betterment and nobility; discouraging philosophies of worsening and tragedy.
What an ambiguous thousand years! Neither total happiness nor complete misery, Neither perfection nor cataclysm, Neither harmonious peace nor destructive war, Neither heaven nor hell on earth.
VISIONS OF OPTIMISM
Possible wonderful events bring about a magnificent world, A Great World Teacher shows mankind the path of love-wisdom,
Wise extraterrestrials lead Earth to a cosmic civilization, An astute human elite creates a peaceful, unified world,
Spiritual beings help mankind give birth to a splendid New Age of Aquarius.
What a glorious new millennium! Noble humans live love-wisdom, An Ascension to majestic dimensions, An ideal world of splendor, excellence, and bliss, The greatest transformation in history.
REFLECTION
A profound mystery of events and outcomes for the new millennium fills my mind, We who live at the end of the current millennium speculate on possibilities of the new thousand years, Those
people who will live at the end of the new thousand years will know the events and outcomes, OH! What will actually happen in the new millennium? A time of nightmare horrors? A time of dubious ambiguity? A time of magnificent transformation?
